#14 Shall we open up science?

Session host: Jussi Nissilä (The Finnish Institute in London)

Time and place: Check the eagenda http://bit.ly/okf-convention_agenda

Description

Round-table discussion and activity session on research policy and open science. Scientific research is founded on the values of openness: transparency, collaboration and sharing. The reality in the field however seems sometimes quite different from those ideals. What is wrong with research policy and practise in Finland today? Could the principles of open science (including open access, open research data etc), open knowledge and values of openness make a difference? And if yes, what can we do about it? Join the discussion and let’s start the changing the Finnish research field together!
